Repatha Racer is a racing mobile application that educates cardiologist on the effects of different medicines on lowering bad cholesterol levels.
As part of my role, I created storyboards and in-game mockups with Photoshop and Illustrator. I also worked with the dev team to implement UI in Unity and collaborated with the game designer to create UX wireframes and a First Time User Experience.
Roles: UI & UX Design
Tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, Unity
Storyboards & Mockups
Inspired by futuristic car dashboards, I designed my meters to imitate speedometers. To match the game’s main finger-motion of swiping, I designed the answer choices to swiped vs tapped. After the initial concept phase, I did a UI pass and made the progress bar thicker and easier to see on mobile.
First Time User Experience
One of the challenges with Repatha Racer was that the 3D UI in the environment was confusing to understand. To make the game easy to learn, I broke down step-by-step what each 3D UI icon represented and made it more visually clear.
In-Game
To make text more legible, I made the contrast between the text and background elements greater than in the original mockups. I also changed the Info button to look more like a Patient Info Card.
